Leaving home for the first time is a big step. It’s exciting, a little overwhelming, and full of unknowns. At The Vegan School, we understand that many of our students—especially young women—are stepping out on their own for the very first time. You’re moving to a new city, sharing space with people you’ve never met, and starting a journey that’s both personal and professional.

This blog is here to reassure you: you’re not doing this alone.

In fact, you’re about to become part of a warm, safe, and close-knit community that feels a lot like family.

What Makes Life at The Vegan School So Comforting

1.  A Home That’s Truly Yours

Every student gets their own personal room and washroom.

Your space is private, clean, and designed to help you unwind after a busy day in the kitchen. Whether you’re someone who likes quiet evenings with music or someone who journals before bed, you’ll have your own corner to do it your way.

2. A Kitchen Shared With Just One Roommate

Each pair of students shares a kitchen, making it easy to settle in without the chaos of a big shared space.

It’s where friendships begin—late-night tea, trying out a new vegan recipe, or sharing stories after class.

3. A Calm, Quiet Neighbourhood

Our accommodation is in a peaceful part of Goa.

It’s safe, quiet, and perfect for students who are living independently for the first time. Many describe it as the ideal balance between comfort and independence.

Your Daily Rhythm: Simple, Structured, and Stress-Free

School Timings

  • Bus to school: 10 AM

  • Return to accommodation: Around 5 PM

After that, the day is yours. Some students rest, some cook, some explore, and many just hang out with each other in the common areas.

Evenings in Goa

This is where the magic happens.

Very often, students plan casual sunset trips to the beach. No pressure, no rules—just a group of soon-to-be friends enjoying the best of Goa together. These spontaneous evenings are what turn classmates into family.

A Community That Looks After Each Other

Living with people who are on the same journey makes everything easier.

You’re surrounded by students who felt the same anxieties on Day 1 and are now laughing, learning, and growing together. People check on each other, share meals, and celebrate even the smallest wins—like mastering a new sauce or creating a perfect croissant.

Our goal is to create an environment that is:

  • Warm

  • Safe

  • Inclusive

  • Supportive

By the end of your course, you don’t just leave with new skills. You leave with friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

Final Thoughts: It’s Normal to Be Nervous. You’ll Settle In Beautifully.

Being away from home for the first time is a milestone. But at The Vegan School, you’re stepping into a space designed to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

You’ll learn.

You’ll grow.

You’ll make friends who feel like home.

And you’ll realise that this shared experience is one of the most special parts of your journey.
